Watch: Keith Olberman on Sochi and the IOC

Controversial commentator, Keith Olberman, host of a one-hour nightly show at 11 pm on ESPN2  gives an incisive and witty account of how the IOC were asked recently, by Head of the Sochi Games, Dmitri Chernyshenko, for support to stop the campaign for a boycott of the Sochi Olympics, started by the LGBT community and its supporters.

It happens that the cause of concern, expressed by the IOC’s Marketing Commission Chairman, Gerhard Heiberg, is not that the LGBT community are discriminated against, but that the sponsors are upset, fearing that a boycott would affect ratings, and therefore their potential profits. He stated: “I think this could ruin a lot for all of us”.

Keith Olberman pulls no punches in this piece, and it is worth watching to the end.
