Changing Attitude Ireland (CAI) hope that you can join them on Saturday 18th October at 1.45pm in St George’s church, High St, BELFAST for a public talk on faith and sexuality by Malcolm Macourt. Malcolm’s talk is titled “Choosing a same sex partner” and is arranged by Changing Attitude Ireland. It will be followed by coffee, religious service for those who wish to avail of it, and the AGM of CAI.
Almost 40 years ago, Malcolm Macourt edited a thought-provoking collection of essays entitled “Towards a Theology of Gay Liberation” (1977, SCM Press).
Malcolm, a practicing Anglican and retired social scientist, returns to his native Belfast to speak about developments in faith and sexuality since that earlier publication.
Among the issues he will discuss are choice in sexuality and the blessing of same sex relationships. His talk coincides with the ‘listening process’ on sexuality currently taking place in some Christian denominations. Malcolm will be joined at the talk by his civil partner the Revd Christopher Wardale.
Here is the timetable of the afternoon:
1.45- 2.30pm pm Public talk: “CHOOSING A SAME SEX PARTNER”
Speaker: Malcolm Macourt
There will also be tea and coffee served.
