Watch: 3 Trans Women Speak About Trans* Day of Remembrance

Transgender Europe’s Trans Murder Monitoring Project reports that at least 226 people lost their lives to anti-transgender hate violence this year. Tragically, countless more victims remain unaccounted for because of misgendering and ignorance.

Transgender Day of Remembrance, which took place earlier this week, is designed to honour the lives lost to anti-transgender hate violence, and to raise awareness around the staggering rates of brutality trans people face every day.

Here, three trans activists speak to GLAAD about the importance of the day.
