BeLonG To are planning to mark the occasion with a celebration, but also to remind people that there is still a lot to do. The future is secured with marriage equality, but as you know, the present can still a very frightening place for children and young people. BeLonGTo need to keep the momentum going, and need people to keep saying YES to supporting LGBT+ children and young people across Ireland.
They are inviting you to join their campaign to mark May 22nd as an annual celebration of LGBT+ progress, and a reminder of work still to be done under the hashtags #BeLonGTotheFuture and #YesEqualityDay.
They are also undertaking a little snapshot of 14-23 year old’s attitudes towards LGBT+ issues, one year on from from the referendum, to get a clearer picture of how such a huge change in legislation is manifesting in the daily lives of young people.
They would really appreciate your help to get the very short survey (completely anonymous and takes only 1 minute!) out to as many 14-23 year old’s as possible before May 16th. It’s a short time, but with your help they can get solid responses.
Here is a link to the survey:
Please can you help in one of the following ways:
- Distribute the link to your email database encouraging young people to complete the survey and share it with friends
- Post the link on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and any other social platforms
- Encourage young people face to face to complete and share
