In our Wednesday Music slot this week, we have a jazz/funk/fusion treat for you with Leo Goh‘s amazing instrumental track from his EP of the same name, Jig Is Up, an upbeat, Shaft-esque piece with guitars, keyboards and drums. Originally from Singapore, the guitarist now lives in California, where he writes songs, has played as a session musician, and has also worked as audio engineer.
Leo tells us he started getting into music when he was doing his bachelor’s degree in business, at the University of Buffalo, New York. He was heavily influenced by Japanese rock music like Miyavi, Gazette, and MUCC, and now loves all comtemporary music, such as R&B, Jazz, Pop, and Rock.
Leo and his band, Groove Martini, have since opened for the likes of Macy Gray, showcased for Stevie Wonder, and have played at the prestigious Blue Sun Festival earlier this month, with such musical luminaries as Michael MacDonald also on the bill! You can learn more about Leo in our upcoming October monthly issue of EILE Magazine.
