Listen: Portugal The Man – Feel It Still

Groove/soul/grind band, ‘Portugal. The Man’, has a new album coming out called Woodstock, and has released the first single from the album, called Feel It Still, a really catchy, dance rhythm yet full sound track. Band members are John Baldwin Gourley, Zachary Scott Carothers, Kyle O’Quin, and Jason Sechrist, hailing from Wasilla, Alaska and Portland Oregon.

The Atlantic recording group has partnered with global creative agency Wieden+Kennedy to launch the interactive companion video for Feel It Still, the first single from their long-awaited new album, Woodstock, which the band addresses below.

“We worked with so many rad people on this album, but ended up with just the four of us in a basement at 4am trying to say something that mattered. Trying to write music that would help people feel they’re not alone, even if they’re angry or feeling lost. This video is our way of saying that we’re all in this together” said John Gourley, lead singer.

“This project came at an interesting time where music and culture and politics are coming together in a way we haven’t seen in decades” commented Wieden+Kennedy Creative Director, Jason Kreher.

“We loved the idea of presenting the apathetic, decadent rebel just for kicks from the song against a hidden message of resistance… you know, like a ‘this is for the people out there who are still feeling something; here is a real, practical laundry list of ways you can get out there and fight injustice.’”
