Mario Sughi: A place to rest
Droichead Arts Centre
7 October – 19 November 2017

The Mario Sughi exhibition at the Droichead Arts Centre, in Drogheda, Co Louth, will be opening Saturday 7th October, at 2.30pm

The exhibition will be launched by Matt Doolan, with music by Hugh Doolan.

“The cinematic nature of Mario’s work captures a stillness as in a frame, edited and then exposed to a series of material changes, which transfer the moving images as a flat notation into a new spatial orientation in a modernist sense of twentieth-century painting” – Ciaran Bennett

“I don’t know what I am doing in terms of meaning when I work. It’s not that interesting to me. My interest is in colour, form, composition and light. If you create a nice image, that image will probably contain something interesting and something meaningful as well. But that will emerge only later, when the work is finished and you look at it on the wall” – (Mario Sughi)
