Netflix To Axe House of Cards After Spacey Allegations

Kevin Spacey

Netflix has stated that it is to axe the series, House of Cards, after allegations were made by actor, Anthony Rapp (Star Trek Discovery) against the main star of the series, Kevin Spacey.

Rapp has accused Spacey of trying to seduce him at a house party, when he was a fourteen year-old and Spacey was 26.

On Twitter, 58 year-old Spacey has said that he doesn’t remember the incident, and that he was “beyond horrified”, however, Netflix and Media Rights Capital executives have released a statement saying that they intend to axe the show, which is currently in production of its sixth season.

Spacey has been heavily criticised, especially by the gay community, for using the opportunity to apparently come out as gay, and for conflating being gay with his earlier actions against the younger Rapp, while also stating that he has had relationships with both men and women in the past.
