Hit comedy show ‘Senior Moments’ returns to TV screens for the Christmas season

The smash hit TV show, Senior Moments, returns to prime time RTÉ One for three new episodes this Christmas season.  Produced by Vico Films (the producers of box office hit, The Young Offenders), the episodes will be broadcast on December 27th at 8.30pm; New Year’s Eve at 9.15pm; and January 2nd at 8.30pm.

Written and directed by Derek Dillon and Mike Foott, Senior Moments is a cross-generational comedy series, where the senior members of Irish society display their charm, warmth and wit – both out on the street with hidden cameras pranking unsuspecting young folk, and in the comfort of their own homes, where they regale us with more jokes, anecdotes and razor sharp wisdom.

The series is made up of two parts; on-the-street pranks, and charming vignettes from their homes. Discussions range from hilarious anecdotes of times gone by, to their personal reflections on modern society.

In Episode 1, Val discovers the truth about his Russian bride, Dorothy tries to flee the ‘real’ capital of Ireland, and we start refunding those controversial water meter charges – but not quite in the way you might expect.

A clip from the first episode has already had almost 130k views on Facebook, a sketch about refunding water charges – it can be seen here: https://www.facebook.com/RTEOne/videos/1801650799908752/?hc_ref=ARTZhmDuthLJYu2SDci5Y0WNV_dH3p2JED7p3GvJf4x9gj1PNCtG1L7-tw2anScLdWU

Episode 2 sees our cast pranking a Young Offender (Alex Murphy from the film of the same name, and the upcoming TV series), some unsuspecting volunteers struggling to keep a straight face on a ‘windy’ day, and a passerby’s chivalry (and patience!) is put to the ultimate test.

Senior Moments’ final episode of this special Christmas series features the laziest postman in town, a lottery scam that nearly has Val in all sorts of trouble, and proof that you’re never too old to fall in love – ciao bello!

Returning seniors who have already claimed a place in the nation’s hearts include Val Brennan, Áine Grace and Phyllis Carthy, who are all back with a bang. New cast includes Dorothy Clements, Noel Hilliard and Denis Brennan, who are all guaranteed to bring a smile to Irish TV viewers’ faces this Christmas season!
