Kit Harington Criticises Marvel For Lack of LGBT Super Heroes

Kit Harington, one of the stars of Game of Thrones, was outspoken at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) about the lack of LGBT representation in film, and wondered when a major superhero is going to be a gay character played by a gay actor in the Marvel Universe.

According to Variety, he said:

“There’s a big problem with masculinity and homosexuality that they can’t somehow go hand in hand, that we can’t have someone in a Marvel movie who’s gay in real life and plays some super hero. I mean, when is that going to happen?”

Harington was promoting his new film at the festival, The Death and Life of John F. Donovan.
