Ireland’s festival of beautiful things Timeless, the Irish Antique Dealers Fair, will take place in Dublin’s RDS from September 13 to 15.

Featuring the best of fine furniture, jewellery and art, Timeless offers a collection of amazing items from antiquity to contemporary.

“Each piece is unique and the real joy of Timeless is discovering that something different, the one magical piece that makes a home,” said Paul Brereton, President of the Irish Antique Dealers Association.

With a fascinating blend of contemporary and antique-focused exhibitors, Timeless allows all ages and tastes to explore and discover once-off, yet affordable, pieces that appeal to them.

“The range of furniture is stunning taking in everything from very fashionable mid-20th Century styles, to lovely pieces from the Art Deco and Art Nouveau periods, plus striking classical furniture from the 1750’s to 1890’s including wonderful antique gilded mirrors,” said Paul.

Another feature is the extensive selection of beautiful jewellery on show which is indeed Timeless, as jewellers such as Matty Weldon of Courtville Antiques are discovering.

“People are going back to gold, it’s a nostalgia thing with Victorian pieces being rediscovered and repurposed for the 21st century,” said Matty.

“T-bar chains or pocket watch chains are enjoying a new lease of life as necklaces, while the engagement ring of Britain’s Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is another reason why Victorian jewellery is having a fashion moment.

“Meghan’s ring is an antique cushion-cut diamond. Where modern stones are cut broadly in the same way, each cushion-cut diamond is totally bespoke and individually crafted for maximum brilliance,” said Matty.

“This is what people want when they are buying an engagement ring – something no-one else has with its own exclusive shape and magical charm.”

Art lovers will also be catered for with some of the country’s top galleries in attendance at the show.

“At Timeless we bring beautiful things together so you can find that unique and yet affordable item that can transform a space and make the perfect centrepiece for your home,” said Paul Brereton.

Timeless, the Irish Antique Dealers Fair, will be at the RDS Shelbourne Hall, Dublin from Friday 13 to Sunday 15 September.
