With a very unusual name, Summer Winter is also a very unusual singer-songwriter, based in Los Angeles. This bisexual artist, with Irish roots, writes satirical spoken-word poems, and turns them into songs, which she says are “short enough for the American attention span”.
She specialises in angelic harmonies, with cut-throat lyrics, and this indie/acoustic track, Solitude Snows, from her album, Party of One, is a pared-back ballad, with beautiful harmonies and lilting piano melody, but is all about being alone, with no-one there for you, even at the end of a party. And unfortunately, some people can really identify with that!
Well worth a listen, and story-wise, it paints a beautiful, sad vignette. Enjoy!
