(12 noon Irish Time)
Gay Games 11 Hong Kong will take place 11-19 November 2022, and they expect 12,000 participants and 75,000 spectators, under the theme ‘Unity in Diversity’. They are working hard to make sure many of these participants are women, transgender, and non-binary individuals and young people (from 18 to 25).
This is why in the two years leading to the Games, Gay Games will create many events and discussions, to make sure that they understand how they can equip themselves to welcome these particular groups.
They would like to invite you to their online webinar, with three women who understand the strengths and challenges that sports participation brings in their lives.
Guest speakers are:
Alicia Lui: Founder of Women In Sports Empowered Hong Kong (WISE HK)
Alicia loved playing sports growing up. She is founder of Women In Sports Empowered Hong Kong (WISE HK), a non-profit initiative that uses sports as a tool for women’s empowerment, gender equity, and social justice.
Jackie Vierow: Gay Games Hong Kong Sports Director
Having started as a Project Lead for the sports sector at Gay Games Hong Kong, Jackie’s role has expanded to include the wider organisation.
You can read more about the guests here.
The online event is scheduled for Thursday, 15th of October, at 7pm Hong Kong time, as a one-hour virtual Zoom meeting. A short Q&A session will follow the chat.
This event will be conducted in English. A Cantonese version will be scheduled shortly after.
Regular webinars will be organised in the future, so stay tuned.
