IDGTF: Call for Submissions Festival 2021
As The International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival have just announced the winners of their first-ever Bursary Programme, it is time to open the Call for Submissions for the 18th International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival! The Festival is as ever committed to support LGBTQ+ artists, especially in these challenging times.
All productions that were formally accepted into their 2020 programme are automatically invited to participate in next year’s Festival, which is scheduled to take place from 3 to 16 May, 2021. (Naturally, they are monitoring the health advice constantly).
So, IDGTF are calling all playwrights to send in their plays by 1 December, 2020. You can find all the details and the application form on their website here.
The International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival is also proud to announce the publication of its anthology of all-new LGBTQ+ plays, which includes works from their bursary winners!
In the 17 years of the International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival, they have seen many brilliant plays. Comedy, drama, tragedy, … They’ve seen it all with an Irish and international tone, all unified by LGBTQ+ identity. Though Covid-19 may have made it impossible for the festival to stage these plays, be assured that Brian Merriman has been working hard so you can still enjoy brilliant LGBTQ+ drama!
Copies of the anthology will be available from their website (€ 15 + postage & packaging). Just keep an eye on their social media and website for more details.
All vouchers purchased for the 17th edition will be automatically valid for next year’s festival. However, if you would rather have vouchers refunded, please contact the IDGTF at firstname.lastname@example.org.
