Ireland’s first major post-lockdown art fair is set to feature the largest collection of sculptures displayed on the island.
Art and Soul – The Holywood International Art and Sculpture Fair – will take place at the five-star Culloden Estate and Spa, Belfast, between June 26 and July 18, in conjunction with Gormleys Fine Art.
The biggest combined outdoor and indoor event of its kind in Ireland, the Fair will comprise several major attractions, including work by Andy Warhol, throughout the Culloden’s grounds and interiors.
The sculpture event is a unique attraction, which will feature 125 sculptures, situated both in the 12 acres of landscaped grounds that stretch down towards the shores of Belfast Lough, and the interior of the Culloden Estate.
It has been curated by Gormleys Fine Art, who last exhibited here successfully in 2019.
Sculptures will include the work of Ian Pollock, Bob Quinn, Eamonn Ceannt, Orla de Brí, Sandra Bell, and F.E McWilliam, as well as a Teddy Bears’ Picnic, featuring a collection of iconic bears created by top sculptor, Patrick O’Reilly.
The Fair, which will be Gormleys Fine Art’s sixth major outdoor exhibition, will also include an entire room of work by Andy Warhol, as well as displays by world-renowned artists such as Dali, Banksy, Picasso, Damien Hirst, and Roy Lichtenstein.
They will join the likes of Lynn Chadwick, Peter Monaghan, Patrick Hughes, Keith Haring, Stephen Johnston, Robert Indiana, Gordon Harris, Julian Opie, and Tom Wesselmann, in a visually spectacular Fair dedicated to best of Irish and international art.
“Art and Soul will give art lovers a unique opportunity to view these incredible pieces of work in the beautiful surroundings of the Culloden Estate and Spa,” said Howard Hastings, Managing Director of Hastings Hotels.
“We have worked closely with Gormleys Fine Art for many months in organising the exhibition and I am confident that visitors will truly appreciate the collection of work that has been put together.”
There will be guided tours around the installations daily, at 2pm, 4pm, and 6pm.
The Culloden Estate is offering special Art and Soul breaks with overnight accommodation, full Irish breakfast, and entry into the exhibition, from £280 [€325.92 approx.] per room.
There will also be an Art and Soul Afternoon Tea, with a curated art tour of the exhibits, for £50 [€58.19 approx.] per person, and there will also be private dining opportunities in the Warhol Room each evening.
