A gay man sustained injuries as he tried to defend his partner against an attack in Almeria, Spain. The man’s injuries included a broken collarbone, arm, and tooth, in a homophobic attack, which one witness described as coming from youths looking like “neo-nazis”, as the couple were attacked from behind.

A square in Madrid is to renamed after a gay rights activist. The square, presently called Plaza Vasquez de Mella, is to be renamed after a townhall vote which approved the proposal. Pedro González Zerolo is the gay rights activist after whom the square is to be renamed.
